Mrs Tickly Toes

Therapeutic Reflexology for the whole family

Welcome

Hi there! I'm Heather, a therapeutic reflexologist in Derby, specialising in support for children and young people facing trauma, social, educational, and emotional challenges.

As a fully qualified Psychologist, MAR Reflexologist, Baby and Child Reflexology Practitioner (CBCRP), and certified Baby and Child Reflexology Instructor (CPCRI), Level 4 CET teacher and assessor and accredited Continuing professional development (CPD) provider I offer comprehensive programmes, training, wellbeing consultancy and treatments.

I am dedicated to guiding my clients through their own unique journeys, combining psychology insights with reflexology techniques, which enables me to tailor my approach to address the holistic needs of each individual.

I am qualified in the treatment of 2nd and 3rd trimester women, provide the 4hr labour programme (Louise Keet) and can support with fertility and postnatal care (4th trimester). As I am qualified in Gentle Touch Reflexology (Sue Ricks) my treatments are suitable for all of the family.

Located in Chaddesden Derby, I operate from my welcoming home practice where clients can feel comfortable and supported throughout their treatments. I also offer a limited number of appointments in the comfort of your own home, subject to location and availability.

My Story

My journey began whilst working with children in care and young people who were struggling to cope with a prospective diagnosis of autism or mental health disorder, and having no understanding of their 'label', ownership or access to techniques to be able to help them cope.

Witnessing first hand their struggle and frustration amongst the lengthy waiting list for support, I decided to train to become a reflexologist, so that I could provide coping mechanisms to guide them through their wellbeing journey and aim to alleviate stress and trauma.

My background in education, raising aspirations, teaching, management, healthcare, charity work and volunteering, led me to find that many of the children I've supported were overwhelmed by stress and anxiety, struggling to find their identity and not being able to play to their own strengths.

I thought to myself, there must be another way to be able to support these individuals on a holistic level. A more supportive solution than just a diagnosis and a simpler way that children and young people can take ownership of the issues that face them.

So, following that, in 2018 my therapeutic programmes and treatments were born!

I hope you like the sound of my journey and I hope you will be part of the next phase. If you have any questions, I would love to hear from you or come and join me at one of my events in Derby; you can find the details of these events by liking and following me on Facebook or Instagram @mrsticklytoes_

The Benefits of Reflexology

What is reflexology?

Reflexology is a holistic treatment which focuses on pressure points located on the feet and hands. It can help in maintaining your body's healthy balance and general wellbeing, which in turn relieves tension and aids circulation, increasing the flow of nutrients, oxygen and energy to all parts of the body, and helping with the removal of toxins. While it is not a cure, Reflexology can be particularly helpful in managing many health conditions, especially constant or recurring ones

What is therapeutic Reflexology?

Therapeutic reflexology is the use of multiple techniques alongside reflexology to support the client such as talking, play, self manipulation, additional holistic resources and signposting.

I use my skills as a psychologist, educator and clinical skills to support the client in a way that is most beneficial to them.

Training, development and wellbeing consultancy

I am a progressive reflexologist and like to use reflexology in all aspects of life- my goal is to raise the profile of reflexology in general practice, SEND, education and holistic practice. Then the question will become what CAN'T reflexology be used for rather than what can it be used for.
